PAIR OF ILLUMINATED LEAVES on vellum with gold highlights, from the same Book of Hours:
one featuring a large miniature depicting King David holding his harp in a landscape before God the Father in a cloud; Latin text of Psalm 6 continuing on the reverse with blue, red and gold initials; margins divided into compartments adorned with intricate acanthus leaves and filled with flowering branches (rose, bellflower, strawberry, violet, thistle), with fleur-de-lis-shaped medallions.
The other featuring a small miniature depicting the Visitation; Latin text of the end of the Te Deum as well as the Marian antiphon Speciosa facta es et suavis in deliciis tuis, sancta Dei Genitrix (You have been made beautiful and sweet in your delights, holy Mother of God); margins of acanthus leaves enlivened by a bird with leaf-shaped medallions filled with flowering branches.
