Large ovoid vase on an octagonal pedestal, fitted with two coiled handles terminating in a bird’s head against a gold background. On one side, a military commander, with a few companions behind him, presents an oliphant to a noble lady in
, on the steps of her palace. On the other side, a ball scene depicting a dancing couple surrounded by the court. These scenes, set within two gold-edged medallions, stand out against a cream background embellished with stylised swans, latticework and gold floral valances. Gold braid and piping on the pedestal. Marked in blue with a sceptre. Chips on the upper rim, loss of material at the handle mount, wear to the gold.
