Charles-Edouard JEANNERET known as LE CORBUSIER (1887-1965) Les mains, 1951 (project for a sculpture) Oil pastels and coloured pencils over graphite lines on wove paper ruled on the reverse, Monogrammed "L - C" and dated "51" lower left Insolated paper, stains, folds, pitting and small tear. 32 x 49 cm These "Hands" are a study for a sculpture. This theme, inspired by a detail in a painting by Le Corbusier from 1948, was the subject of much research by the artist, culminating in the creation of two sculptures, one of hands alone in 1956 and one of a bust figure in 1957. Provenance : - Mrs Noémie TRIQUOIRE, known as NO, works given directly by the artist. - Descendants of NO. A certificate from Mr Eric Mouchet will be given to the buyer established on 20 July 2023.
