Description
AUZOUX Paris
Extrinsic muscles of the human tongue
Dismantlable clastic anatomy model in resin.
Dimensions: 27 x 21 x 28 cm.
Around 1830, Doctor Louis Auzoux became famous for making educational models in moulded cardboard that could be taken apart. He used an original technique based on moulded and pressed paper pulp. After demoulding, the parts were assembled, painted, labelled and then coated with fish glue.
These models have enabled a real evolution in the teaching and learning of medicine through manipulation, considerably reducing the number of dissections of the dead and the looting of cemeteries.
Made in resin from the 1980s onwards, they were so successful that they were produced until the end of the 20th century.
