‘The Battle of Waterloo’ chess set, comprising a black-framed presentation box and 32 figurative pieces depicting the key figures and soldiers of the Battle of Waterloo.
Pieces in silver-plated metal, probably solid pewter, on red and blue enamelled bases with gold highlights. The original booklet states that the figurines were produced by Le Médaillier Franklin, in solid pewter and solid copper enhanced with enamel. A subscription edition from the late 1980s.
Comes with the original leaflet/documentation and a box marked: ‘The Waterloo Museum – The Battle of Waterloo – Chess Set’.
