[AMBROGIANI] GIONO [Jean] – LE HAUT PAYS. Paris, Éditions d’Art Les Heures Claires, 1965. Folio (approx. 38×29 cm). Loose sheets, with publisher’s cover, slipcase and red cloth box, with title on spine. First edition, illustrated with 18 original colour lithographs by Pierre AMBROGIANI, several of which are double-page spreads, printed by the Ballon and Détruit-Trotignon workshops; text set in ‘Médiæval Hollandais’, printed by Pierre Bouchet. Limited edition of 300 numbered copies. This is the ‘copy reserved for the Artist’, on pearlescent Japanese paper, with a colophon signed by Pierre Ambrogiani, enriched with a set of lithographs on Arches vellum (12 plates) and a set on satin (12 plates), and an original felt-tip pen drawing by Pierre Ambrogiani with a signed autograph dedication. Included: a portfolio of 5 lithographs by Ambrogiani on satin (approx. 38x56cm). Good condition. Box slightly faded; portfolio stained (water damage).
