[TIMAR] SWIFT [Jonathan] – GULLIVER’S TRAVELS IN FAR-OFF LANDS. Paris, À l’Emblème du Secrétaire, 1940. 2 vols., in-4 (approx. 23.5 × 19 cm). Green half-maroquin with corner pieces, ribbed spine decorated with a gilt fleur-de-lis, gilt title and volume number, gilt fillets on marbled paper covers, gilt head. Colour illustrations by TIMAR, both as inserts and within the text. Limited edition of 1,000 numbered copies (plus 15 artist’s proofs on Japanese paper). This copy, no. 666, is one of 920 copies on ivory-coloured vellum from Papeteries Boucher. Good condition. Pages fresh; spine faded, slight rubbing.
