294 - SOLY ART, OIL ON CANVAS, DATED 7/6/2011 - 25x60 cm - Born in 1977 in Montpellier, Xavier, who goes by the pseudonym SOLY.ART, has been painting for over 35 years on walls, canvases and T-shirts. Starting out as an observer, he very quickly developed a style that is almost indefinable, depending on whether he is painting letters, figures or landscapes. Keen not to disappoint, each piece is meticulously crafted, accomplished and sincere in its engagement with the viewer. His move to Lorraine meant working on narrower surfaces and developing other techniques (airbrushing, stencilling). This does not prevent him from creating murals in and around Nancy, notably the ‘Grand Cheval de Nancy’ (Drouot Equestrian Centre, Vandœuvre, September 2012). Designing T-shirt graphics is also one of his specialities. The canvas on display was created on 7 June 2011. This ‘Double SOLY’ canvas is mounted on a standard 60x25x2cm stretcher frame.
