Description
Marie-Victoire JAQUOTOT (1772-1855), attributed to
Portrait of Anne of Austria, Queen of France, after Peter Paul Rubens.

8 x 7.1 cm
In an antique carved and gilded wood frame
Provenance
Anonymous sale, Marseille, 9 March 2001, as "Ecole française du début du XVIIe siècle" ;
Private collection, Paris.
This effigy can be compared to the series of forty-eight miniature portraits painted on porcelain by Marie-Victoire Jaquotot for the snuffbox of King Louis XVIII.
Our drawing is a copy of the portrait of Anne of Austria by Rubens in the Louvre (Inv. 1794), formerly identified as Elisabeth de Bourbon, daughter of Henri IV, Queen of Spain, its interpretation is very close to that of Jaquot's work in the Louvre (INV 35646, Recto).
