Description
A vermeil, silver and rose gold double-cased verge watch, signed (dial and movement) 'Gabriel Tallens' and numbered (movement and case) '13821'. Third quarter of the 18th century. White enamel dial, Roman numerals for the hours, Arabic numerals for the minutes, openwork hands set with white stones; gilt brass movement, openwork and engraved bridge, silver regulator disc, Egyptian pillars, verge escapement. The back of the case is engraved with a geometric design around an enamel portrait of a young woman (small accident) in a surround of rose-style rhinestones. D. approx. 41mm - Gross weight: 50.56 g Shell: approx. 42 mm, Gross weight: 16.20 g Cracked glass. Watch possibly attributable to a descendant of Gabriel Tallent, watchmaker in Lausanne at the beginning of the 18th century. Expert : DIAMANTIQUES
