French school circa 1830-1850, from an earlier portrait circa 1815. Young brunette woman wearing a crown of roses, three-quarter length to the right in a white dress with a pink sash and Empire waistline, three strands of pearls, large pearl earrings. Miniature on ivory, diam. 6.1 cm Gold medallion, double-sided, hallmark on clasp On the reverse, hair work circa 1800-1815, forming the initials "JB" on an ivory background. Diameter 6.7 cm (oxidation) Gross weight: 41.40 g Provenance: Binoche et Giquello sale, Drouot, 29 April 2017 No. 58 as "Nicolas Chalot, active between 1790 and 1810".
