Description
Edouard LELIEVRE - Bronze vase with floral decoration signed with the founder's stamp.
This vase is fully in keeping with the Art Nouveau movement (period 1890-1910), characterised by the omnipresence of organic lines.
The neck (lip) has a textured border, imitating the collar of a decomposing mushroom (an aesthetic of metamorphosis typical of the École de Nancy).
The body is in two parts: the upper register is structured by a gadrooned bulge that evokes a bulb punctuated by flowers (small boucage type). The lower register shows the descent of a ribbed stem decorated with leaves along the body of the vase to form the base.
Dimensions: height: 27.5 cm - diameter: 44 cm.
