Description
PASTEUR, Louis (1822-1895). Autograph letter signed addressed to Alexis Dureau (1831-1904), doctor of medicine and librarian of the Académie de Médecine. Paris, 9 July 1881. ½ p. in-8. Autograph envelope preserved with stamp and postmarks.
"A thousand thanks, my dear colleague, for your kind and benevolent congratulations. Yours in good and sincere confraternity. L. Pasteur".
Attached is an autograph mourning card from René Vallery-Radot, following the death of Louis Pateur, addressed to Dureau by the Pasteur family: Mme Louis Pasteur, M. et Mme J.-B. Pasteur and M. et Mme René Valléry-Radot. They were "infinitely touched and grateful for Director Dureau's letter and for the souvenir published in the Chronique médicale".
