Lucien FUGERE (1848–1935), an opera singer who was made a Knight of the Legion of Honour in 1898. A letter on a visiting-card-sized piece of Bristol board, dated 23 July 1912 and signed by Fugère, bearing the letterhead of the Villa Mamette in Royan, of which Fugère was the first owner. In it, he tells a friend that he is unable to visit him at Le Moutchic, and discusses forthcoming rehearsals.
