MONTPELLIER, late 16th–early 17th century, Albarello on a footring with a rimmed neck, in polychrome glazed earthenware, decorated with foliage scrolls and antimony-yellow acanthus leaves on a cobalt blue ground, and featuring a helmeted man within a double-lined oval - Height approx. 14 cm x Diameter approx. 11 cm (slight chip to the foot, crazing and loss of glaze)
COMMENT: Similar albarelli were exhibited at the ‘Terre de Faïences’ exhibition, Montpellier, 2012, and are reproduced in the catalogue on p.143
