ALPES-MARITIMES (06) – NICE & DURANUS – “The Convents of Cimies and Saint-Pons and the Paillon near Nice”. 19th century. Original DRAWING (probably by Félix Benoist (1818–1896)) in graphite on vellum paper. Inscribed “Convents of Cimies and St Pons and the Paillon near Nice” in pencil in the bottom left-hand corner. A second pencil drawing on the reverse depicting a view of “DURANUS” (labelled in the bottom left-hand corner). Handwritten annotations in pencil at the bottom. Provenance: From the collection of the Charpentier studio, run by Pierre-Henri (1788–1854) and his son Henri-Désiré (1806–1883), printers and publishers based in Paris, then in Nantes (from 1854). 22 x 31 cm. Condition A (in excellent condition).
