Description
CÔTES D'ARMOR (22) – “LAMBALLE”. 19th century. Original drawing (probably by Félix Benoist (1818–1896)) in graphite on vellum paper. Inscribed “Lamballe (C. du Nord) / Eglise N.Dame” in pencil in the bottom left-hand corner. Similar to the lithograph entitled “Lamballe”, for the album “Bretagne Contemporaine” published by Charpentier. Provenance: From the collection of the Charpentier studio, run by Pierre-Henri (1788–1854) and his son Henri-Désiré (1806–1883), printers and publishers based in Paris, then in Nantes (from 1854). 23.8 x 31.5 cm. Condition A (rare minor creases along the edges of the sheet, otherwise in good condition).
