FINISTÈRE (29) – “Calvary on the River Guisseny”. 19th century. Original DRAWING (probably by Félix Benoist) in graphite and highlighted with white gouache, on vellum paper. Inscribed “Calvary on the River Guissenie / aber Benoit (?)” in pencil in the bottom left-hand corner. Provenance: From the collection of the Charpentier studio, run by Pierre-Henri (1788–1854) and his son Henri-Désiré (1806–1883), printers and publishers based in Paris, then in Nantes (from 1854). 20 x 31 cm. Condition A (in excellent condition).
