THE REVOLUTION OF 1830 – DELACROIX – “Liberty Leading the People, 28 July 1830”. Etching and burin engraving after Eugène DELACROIX, by Louis Adolphe SALMON (born 1804). Proof with engraved remarks, the artist’s name and date engraved with a point in the margin, on Arches laid paper. Handwritten annotation in pencil: “Robaut Collection”. Good margins. Engraving after the painting “Liberty Leading the People” executed by Eugène Delacroix in 1830, inspired by the Three Glorious Days. 54.5 x 72 cm. Condition B/C (foxing spots and short tears in the sun-faded and dusty margins; the subject itself is largely unaffected; a tear in the margin at the lower left-hand corner).
