Description
MARINE - LEDUC - THE EMPRESS EUGENIE, a liner of the Transatlantic Company (the first liner built at Saint-Nazaire between 1862 and 1864). 19th century. Original colour lithograph by Charles LEDUC (1831–1911). Signed on the plate. Print on vellum paper, printed by Becquet and published by F. Sinnett, in Paris. Margins. “L’Impératrice Eugénie” was the name of the first transatlantic liner built in France. It was also the first ship to be built at the Scott shipyard in Saint-Nazaire, now known as Chantiers de l’Atlantique. 33 x 49 cm. Condition B (a few marginal stains, subject in good condition).
