NAVY – LEDUC – THE SOLFERINO, a French Navy armoured ship with a ram. 19th century. Original colour lithograph by Charles LEDUC (1831–1911). Signed on the plate. Print on vellum paper, printed by Becquet and published by F. Sinnett, in Paris. Margins. The Solférino was a Magenta-class armoured ship built at the Lorient shipyard between 1859 and 1861. It was named in honour of the Battle of Solferino on 24 June 1859 during the Italian Campaign. 33 x 49 cm. Condition A/B (very few scattered small stains, slight traces of former mounting on the reverse).
