FELIN – “Lion with his dog”. Early 19th century. Pencil-style engraving by A. NOËL, after a drawing from life by Jean-Baptiste HUET (1745–1811) at the Menagerie of the Jardin des Plantes in Paris. Proof with lettermark, on laid paper, bearing the address “In Paris at Jean’s, 32 Rue Jean de Beauvais”. Copperplate margins. 48 x 60.5 cm. Condition A/B (cut to the edge of the copper plate and formerly glued along the edges to the back of a frame; three small creases from the printing process; a few stains and water marks in the margins; three small foxing spots).
