Morane, no. 41 (“Whilst this plate is clearly intended to form part of an album by Ymagier, the meaning of ‘P.5’ (in the margin) is not clear. This print is the only one to bear such numbering. Nor does it refer to the 5th station of the Way of the Cross, as the scene depicted corresponds to the 6th station, Veronica wiping Christ’s face"). Signed with the maple leaf monogram in the bottom left-hand corner of the composition. Printed on thin vellum paper. Published by L’Ymagier. Good margins. 62 x 45.5 cm.
