Accompanied by the source text: *Lecture des cartes russes. Indication linguistiques, géographiques et topographiques*. Paris, Chapelot, 1907. IX, 90 pp., 1 leaf, 4 folded tables, 1 leaf; the main text lithographed. 25.5 x 19 cm. Flexible original black-embossed linen binding (slightly rubbed and bumped). – With a handwritten dedication by the author to (Court Councillor) Haardt von Hartenthurn, 23 December 1910. - Both volumes bear a de-dedicated bookplate and the stamp of the Imperial and Royal Military-Geographical Institute; the printed copy contains a contemporary handwritten cross-reference to the translation ‘under the same number’. The manuscript does not correspond to the printed edition page-for-page, but is otherwise meticulous in style and content, including the cartographic symbols in the margins. The fold-out plates from the printed edition have been joined together on double sheets. - The printed edition is slightly browned, with crease marks on the upper corners; the manuscript is in fresh condition.
