In addition to medicine, Grünberg covers the technical terminology of pharmacy, medical chemistry, physics, natural history and botany, as well as veterinary medicine. It also includes etymological explanations of medical terms of Greek origin. The fourth part, a Russian–Latin index in Cyrillic script, was published in 1842 by Reimer in Berlin. A third part is documented as a German–Latin index. The work is an important source for the history of medicine, the history of pharmacy and the history of science in Russia.
