Robert COMBAS (born 1957) Radase and Ripolin, 1983 Mixed media, pastel, graphite, felt-tip pen, over black ink pen lines, signed and dated on the right-hand side, titled in the upper margin and extensively annotated in the lower margin by the artist: “The two dog-men, no, one dog-man and one empathomaniac, in the little village with red-brick roofs. They are out for a walk, even though one of them is holding the other’s tail right in the middle of the street” [sic] H. 29 cm W. 19 cm (as seen) Provenance: Galerie Christophe GAILLARD, Paris This work features the motif from “Lambert Pépère”, a painting produced in the same year and acquired in 1985 by the Musée National d’Art Moderne, Centre Georges Pompidou, inv. AM 1985-61.
