Description
COOKIE DES FORÊTS SELLE FRANÇAIS – Gelding – Chestnut Born 19 July 2012 By NOZARI DES HAYETTES (BWP) and SI BELLE DES FORÊTS, by QUAPRICE BOIMARGOT QUINCY (HOLST). Pedigree COOKIE DES FORÊTS is the product of a particularly promising cross for show jumping. His sire, NOZARI DES HAYETTES, a BWP stallion, is himself the son of QUASIMODO VAN DE MOLENDREEF, one of Europe’s leading sires in the production of sport horses. His dam, SI BELLE DES FORÊTS, brings the proven bloodline of QUAPRICE BOIMARGOT QUINCY, a leading stallion in the Selle Français studbook and sire of numerous international performers. This pedigree gives the horse a genuine aptitude for sport and show jumping. Conformation This is a large-framed gelding with a harmonious, athletic build. Notable features include: an expressive head; a long, well-angulated neck; well-developed shoulders; a correctly arched back; good depth of chest; a powerful hindquarters; uniform and well-maintained musculature; slender limbs with sufficient bone structure. The horse is in very good overall physical condition and has an excellent coat, reflecting regular grooming. Administrative and sporting status The horse is registered in the Selle Français Stud Book under number SIRE 12 266 384 Y. It also holds an international FEI passport, attesting to a sporting career and participation in international competitions. Veterinary information The veterinary records show several documented episodes of locomotor issues. Current condition During the veterinary examination included in the file, the horse presented: ‘a general examination within normal limits and showed no lameness’ The blood tests carried out on 20 March 2026 are generally reassuring. They show a normal complete blood count and biochemistry with no major abnormalities, apart from: isolated mild thrombocytopenia; slightly low blood glucose; calcium levels slightly below the usual range. Veterinary records available for consultation. The examination and treatment report dated 12 June 2026, included in the file, mentions a comprehensive radiographic assessment comprising 27 images. Today’s radiographic findings indicate mild interphalangeal lesions in the forelimbs, mild arthropathy of the fetlocks, moderate arthropathy of the hocks, mild arthropathy of the right stifle, as well as convergence and remodelling of the spinous processes beneath the saddle, with no impingement at present. The most recent supplementary findings also report back pain that has responded favourably to paravertebral injections, a satisfactory clinical course, a favourable sporting prognosis provided that adequate dorsal musculature is maintained, the presence of melanomas, particularly in the perineal region, a general examination within normal limits with no lameness observed, and blood tests showing no major abnormalities apart from a mild, isolated thrombocytopenia. Melanomas are described as common in grey horses, particularly in older animals; these factors must, of course, be assessed by any prospective buyer in consultation with their veterinary adviser. An experienced mare, well-bred, with a known history and a transparent pedigree record, to be considered for a serious purchase where the quality of breeding, the value of the bloodline and the clarity of the pedigree record are paramount.
