Description
HORFEE D'HONVAULT FRENCH SADDLE HORSE – Mare – Bay Born on 26 March 2017 By JARNAC and JOFFEE D'HONVAULT. Watch a video: https://youtu.be/6IG6oiNhtDc Pedigree HORFEE D'HONVAULT is a daughter of the Selle Français stallion JARNAC, son of the famous RYON D'ANZEX, an international stallion who left his mark on French show jumping breeding. Her dam, JOFFEE D’HONVAULT, also comes from a proven Selle Français bloodline. This pedigree gives her a strong sporting pedigree, clearly recognised in the market for competition and recreational sport horses. Conformation A mare with a modern, feminine and harmonious sporting conformation. She offers: an expressive and distinguished head; a long, well-set neck; correct shoulders; a straight back; good depth of body; a powerful hindquarters; slender limbs with a bone structure suited to sport. The mare appears to be in an excellent state of general condition. Her glossy bay coat, accented with discreet white markings, combined with her very well-groomed appearance, gives her excellent commercial appeal. Overall, she conveys an impression of quality, power and balance. Competition History The mare is registered with the SIRE and holds an international FEI passport. The documents provided show a history of regular competition, particularly in show jumping, with appearances on the amateur circuit. Veterinary Information Veterinary records are available for inspection. The medical information provided indicates a recent musculoskeletal assessment. During the most recent orthopaedic examination: no lameness when walking in a straight line; slight lameness observed when walking in a circle on both forelimbs; improvement noted following foot injections; a period of convalescence and rehabilitation through work is recommended. The blood test carried out in March 2026 appears generally satisfactory, with no major biological abnormalities, apart from mild thrombocytopenia and a slightly low calcium level, neither of which is cause for alarm in isolation. The private radiographic report dated 12 June 2026 describes a comprehensive series of 24 radiographs showing moderate arthropathy of both front fetlocks, arthropathy of the right hind fetlock, a zero to negative palmar angle in both forelimbs with synovitis of the distal interphalangeal joint, bilateral distal intertarsal arthropathy, mild to moderate arthropathy of the hocks, and thoracic interspinous enthesophytes. The additional clinical information provided also indicates the absence of lameness when walking in a straight line, slight lameness on both forelimbs when walking in a circle, followed by improvement after foot injections, with convalescence and rehabilitation recommended. This clinical picture does not correspond to a mare ‘ready for competition’ at the time of this report, but to a mare with potential for further development, subject to an improvement in locomotion confirmed by a follow-up examination. Assessment HORFEE D’HONVAULT currently presents the profile of a sport mare that still has potential for use, subject to a favourable outcome from her ongoing locomotor monitoring.
