TRIUMPH TR 6 (CF) CABRIOLET USA (CARBURATES) 1974 VEHICLE IDENTIFICATION NUMBER: CF27464U The Triumph TR6 embodies the spirit of the British roadster of the 1970s: a simple, elegant car with a strong focus on driving pleasure. Produced by Triumph between 1969 and 1976, the TR6 was one of the British marque's greatest successes, with the vast majority of examples exported to the United States. The 1974 model bearing the code CF was the American version equipped with Stromberg carburettors, developed to meet the American anti-pollution standards of the time. Under its long bonnet was a 2.5-litre in-line six-cylinder engine mated to a four-speed manual gearbox. Although its power output was more modest than that of the fuel-injected European versions, this configuration offered a powertrain that was reputed to be smoother and more reliable in everyday use.
