Description
1991 ALFA ROMEO SPIDER SERIES 4 • French classic car registration document • Chassis number: ZAR11500006011731 • Only 23,590 km on the clock • Known history: service books, logbooks and hardtop supplied • Complete file of invoices Unveiled in March 1966 at the Geneva Motor Show under the name ‘Duetto’, the Alfa Romeo Spider is the work of Pininfarina. Its styling, with its sculpted flanks and flush-fitting headlights, was unlike anything else on the market at the time. It spanned the decades across four successive series, each refining the design without ever compromising its core principles. The fourth and final series, launched in 1990, returned to its roots: Pininfarina removed the plastic trim from the previous series, painted the bumpers in the same colour as the bodywork and incorporated rear lights inspired by the 164 saloon. Power steering became standard and the 2.0-litre engine was fitted with electronic fuel injection. The 1,962 cc twin-cam four-cylinder engine produced 126 hp, achieving a top speed of 192 km/h and accelerating from 0 to 100 km/h in 9.8 seconds. Production of the Series 4 ended in 1994 after 18,456 units of the 2.0-litre model had been produced, a figure which, given its short production run, makes it a model that is already quite rare. The example shown here, chassis number ZAR11500006011731, was delivered new to Roanne in 1991. Used for a short time by the dealership, it soon passed into the hands of a local collector who used it sparingly before it was acquired by its current owner in 2015; the car had then covered less than 15,000 km. Regularly serviced since then, the vehicle features a red exterior paired with a beige interior. It is in excellent overall condition: the paintwork is glossy and the interior is particularly well-preserved. Mechanically, there are no issues to report, as evidenced by its pass in the MOT test. A full set of invoices accompanies the vehicle, along with the service books, logbook and its hardtop. With just 23,590 km on the clock, corroborated by its Histovec report, and in surprisingly good mechanical condition given its 35 years, this Alfa Romeo Spider represents a rare opportunity to acquire a sparkling, well-preserved little Italian roadster. 1991 ALFA ROMEO SPIDER SERIES 4 • French classic car registration certificate • Chassis number: ZAR11500006011731 • Only 23,590 original kilometres • Documented history: service records, owner’s manuals, and hardtop included • Complete set of invoices Unveiled in March 1966 at the Geneva Motor Show under the name “Duetto,” the Alfa Romeo Spider is the work of Pininfarina.
