1979 - Maserati Kyalami 4.2 Chassis no. AM1290054 French historic registration title French historic registration title Same owner since 1988! Same owner since 1988! - The Kyalami was presented at the 1976 Geneva Motor Show at a time when Maserati was on the verge of bankruptcy. Bought out a little earlier by Alejandro De Tomaso, it was decided to take the formula of the elegant Longchamp, signed by Frua, and implement it in this model. - The Kyalami also gets an in-house twin-camshaft V8, which is more noble and available in two versions, 4.2-litre and 4.9-litre. - The history of our example, a 4.2 version, dates back to 1988, when the current owner acquired it. Invoices have been on file ever since, and the car is still accompanied by its Uso e manutenzione booklet. - Since then, the car has always been maintained and used, in particular for rallies with the Maserati France club. Notable maintenance work has included changing the clutch and flywheel in 2018, as well as carrying out work on the brakes. - Today, this car is in decent condition, with just the right amount of patina to make it desirable; the paintwork was redone in places many years ago, and the black leather interior looks original and is in good condition overall. It runs well too, with its ultra-torquey V8 offering excellent driving comfort! This is one of the rare opportunities to buy not only a very elegant Italian GT from the 1970s, but above all a piece of Maserati history, rarer than most of the models usually offered for sale! - The Kyalami was unveiled at the 1976 Geneva Motor Show at a time when Maserati was on the verge of bankruptcy.
