- The Kyalami was presented at the 1976 Geneva Motor Show at a time when Maserati was on the verge of bankruptcy. Bought out a little earlier by Alejandro De Tomaso, it was decided to take the formula of the elegant Longchamp, signed by Frua, and implement it in this model.
- The Kyalami also gets an in-house twin-camshaft V8, which is more noble and available in two versions, 4.2-litre and 4.9-litre.
- The history of our example, a 4.2 version, dates back to 1988, when the current owner acquired it. Invoices have been on file ever since, and the car is still accompanied by its Uso e manutenzione booklet.
