"Chrome frame, custom paintwork and prestigious provenance for this super Bonnie!
At the end of the 1930s, the respectable Triumph company presented an original motorbike, as beautiful as it was efficient, the 500 Speed Twin, which stood out for its twin-cylinder engine facing the road, whereas the twin-cylinder motorbikes of the time had an engine running lengthways.
It was such a success that other British manufacturers were quick to adopt this architecture. After the war, the bike grew to 650 cm3 and the twin-carburettor Sport version adopted the Bonneville name following a speed record on the famous American salt lake.
The most beautiful - and reliable! - Bonneville T120s, production of which ceased in 1973, were those built between 1968 and 1970, before the oil tank was incorporated into the frame.
This Bonneville was probably reassembled, because although the serial number on the frame (which has been reworked) corresponds to a 1972 model, the engine is from 1967, and the whole bike looks like a pre-1970 Bonneville, with a separate oil tank.
Christened 'My Bonnie', the bike has a fully chromed frame and unique paintwork. It is said to have belonged to Jean Basselin, endurance racer, friend and private secretary to Johnny Halliday...
