Description
1971 - Lancia Fulvia Zagato 1.3 S Chassis n° 818650001562 French registration Sold without technical inspection "Extremely rare car delivered new in France, good base for restarting". The Lancia Fulvia Sport Zagato occupies a singular place in Lancia production in the 1960s. Designed by Ercole Spada for Zagato and launched in 1965, it transposed the dynamic qualities of the Fulvia into a special body, lighter and more aerodynamic than that of the Coupé. Our example belongs to the second series with a steel body, produced from 1967 onwards, recognisable by its slightly revised design and more rational production. Retaining the brilliant narrow-angle V4, front-wheel drive and road-holding that had made the model's reputation, the Sport Zagato was distinguished above all by its confidential distribution and the absolute nobility of its design compared to the more traditional production Fulvias. As its manufacturer's plate attests, this is one of the rare examples delivered new in France! It was recently found in the garage of an early Fulvia Zagato enthusiast, alongside another example and a myriad of spare parts! The collector had bought this rare 1.3 S in 1985. Today, this car represents an interesting restoration project: the mechanics are fairly straightforward, the bodywork is beautiful despite a few traces of corrosion, and the upholstery is in good condition (only the headliner is detached). So here's a nice project, with a very reasonable estimate, for an enthusiast with a few weekends free!
