"Sold new in France by Franco Britannic, only 1,703 examples!
The successor to the Bentley S Series, the T Series incorporates all the technical innovations introduced by the Rolls-Royce Silver Shadow, of which it is the perfect twin. It is, however, more discreet, with a less ostentatious grille. But it retains the same level of luxury, comfort and ease.
An iconic model, the Bentley T1 is the first monocoque in the history of the British manufacturer. Powered by a 200 bhp 6.3-litre V8, it features automatic transmission, power steering and four-wheel disc brakes. The result was a combination of comfort and top-class performance for its time.
Delivered new by Franco Britannic to its first French owner in 1974, our car has had five owners since it was first put on the road. Its maintenance file, which includes numerous invoices, dates back to 2001.
In 2021, it underwent a major service at the Bentley dealership in Malaga, which included changing all the fluids, the carburettor, the transmission, the gearbox casing seal, the air conditioning, and replacing the alternator, air conditioning compressor and power steering belts, as well as the water pump, at a cost of over €6,000. The car has been driven very little since it was purchased in 2023, but has just been given a complete overhaul at Atelier 46.
The bodywork is now in used condition, with some paint chips and traces of corrosion on the bodywork and underpinnings. Inside, the original upholstery has a delightful patina. The varnish on the woodwork could do with a little attention, and a thorough cleaning would restore the cabin to its former glory. Far rarer and more exclusive than a Rolls-Royce Silver Shadow, lovers of luxury saloons will not be mistaken.
