The SM is still the stuff of dreams today, across all generations. Only 12,920 were sold in the five years of production. Today, the SM is increasingly sought-after, and is enjoying a resurgence of interest. A perfect blend of modernity, comfort and performance, the SM is a different kind of GT car, one with status and style.
The SM that interests us in these pages was launched in 1973 and is therefore part of the series of versions with electronic fuel injection. It comes with air conditioning and a black leather interior. The car originally came off the assembly line in metallic grey.
It was restored a few years ago, and during its general overhaul, repainted in a unique colour. The colour is Devon Green, code ESW. This is a Citroën colour that was used at the time on certain commercial vehicles in the range.
The collector owner acquired it from a Dutch professional in 2019 and will use the beautiful SM for touring. A lot of maintenance work has been carried out over the years and with use. The radiator was replaced by an aluminium model, as were the tyres, the air conditioning and, most recently, a general tune-up by SM specialist Nicolas Gallet.
During our test drive, we were won over by this car in its unique colour, which suits it so well. The mechanics are in excellent condition, and this grand tourer is just waiting to hit the road.
