Description
1961 - Cadillac Coupé de Ville
Chassis n°62J002459
French registration
Excessive elegance, sculptural lines and a majestic V8: the American motoring dream of the early 1960s.
In the aftermath of the Second World War, Cadillac came up with two major innovations: winglets and the high-compression V8. From then on, the brand asserted its hold on the top end of the market by imposing the stylistic canons of the time.
The Coupé de Ville was one of the most refined expressions of American luxury.
Its low, slender silhouette retained the stylistic attributes that had made the brand famous.
The 1961 model is characterised by its windscreen, which is no longer panoramic but has double-curved pillars, and by the 'skegs', the spoilers located at the bottom of the body that run horizontally from the front wheel arch to the rear bumper.
Our 1962 model was assembled at the Janesville, Wisconsin factory in the 5th week of August 1961, in Ebony Black with grey cloth and leather interior.
Perhaps most importantly, it was sold new in France and is presented in original condition, with just under 79,000 km on the clock. A must for enthusiasts!
