Description
1965 - Jaguar E-Type Series 1 4.2 Roadster Chassis n°1E11565 French registration Extensive restoration carried out between 2017 and 2019 in the workshops of Dominique Tessier. Presented at Geneva in 1961, the E-Type was an immediate success and was soon voted "most beautiful car in the world". In addition to its superb lines designed by Malcom Sayer, it was its exceptional performance that set a new benchmark for sportiness. Available as a coupé and roadster, it was initially marketed with a 3.8-litre 6-cylinder engine, before receiving a 265bhp 4.2-litre engine in 1964. Ordered new in New York, our 4.2-litre roadster was probably delivered to its first owner directly from the Coventry factory. It was imported to France in 2006 by Mr Tessier and remained registered in Touraine until 2023, when the current owner purchased it. Our example underwent a major restoration between 2017 and 2019 in the workshops of Dominique Tessier in Tours. The body was repainted in its original Carmen Red colour. The cabin has been fitted with new black leather upholstery and matching carpets, as well as a new soft top. As for the mechanical part, it has also benefited from a complete restoration, noting that the engine is not the original one. Having covered around 6,000 km since its restoration, our E-Type is in very good condition. It runs like a charm and is easy to use thanks to its electric power steering. The brake master cylinder was replaced before the sale. Restored in a renowned workshop and appraised at €130,000 in 2023, this superb E-Type is just waiting for its next owner to take to the road and turn every one of your escapades into an exceptional moment.
