Description
1976 - Range Rover 3.5 Chassis no. 35823858D French collector's registration A superb colour combination and a brand new chassis for this legendary Range Rover! Launched in 1966, the Range Rover project, then known as the "100-inch wheelbase estate" by Land Rover engineers, was launched on the market in 1970. The idea? To offer a car capable of combining the capabilities of an off-roader with the performance and comfort of a saloon. Creating the luxury 4x4, the Range was available exclusively as a 2-door until 1981, and with a compulsory aluminium V8 engine and manual gearbox until 1982. An undeniable success ever since, the Range has become a motoring 'must-have', particularly in the first few generations. The example on offer is a superb Range Rover Classic 3-door from July 1976. It is powered by Rover's original carburetted 3.5-litre V8 producing 135 bhp. Charles Spencer King's original design is superb in this Lincoln Green livery, with beige leatherette interior and matching biscuit carpets. Our vehicle underwent a complete cosmetic restoration in keeping with its authenticity some ten years ago in Spain before being imported to France. Its current owner bought it in 2022 and has used it very little since. This Range is just waiting to be driven, and its future owner will only have to fine-tune the cosmetic condition (letter R missing from the tailgate, minor bodywork defects, various seals to be replaced) of this legendary 4x4, which is equally at home in the city or the country, before enjoying it to the full.
