Description
1955 - Citroën 2 CV AZ Chassis no. 208701 French registration document A simple, robust French icon with a superb patina. Launched in the early 1950s, the Citroën 2 CV AZ was the successor to the type A presented in 1948. More powerful thanks to its 425cc engine, it retained all the qualities that had made the model such a success: exemplary mechanical simplicity, low running costs and a remarkable ability to handle all types of road. A true symbol of France's motoring heritage, the 2 CV captivates with its authentic charm and ingenuity. Its uncluttered interior, legendary suspension comfort and resolutely practical philosophy offer a unique driving experience steeped in nostalgia. Owned by a certain Moïse Delroise in Barlin, Pas-de-Calais, this 2CV probably never left the region until its current owner purchased it in 2015. Our example is in its original condition and has a superb patina. It is fitted with a long, removable bonnet that is very pleasant in summer. There are traces of corrosion on the bodywork and underpinnings, but the overall condition is quite satisfactory. Inside, the upholstery and door panels are original, as are the period imitation seat covers. The mechanics are functional and the car is roadworthy; it should be noted that the battery was replaced before the sale. Having been driven very little since 2015, a service will be required. With its inimitable patina and attractive estimate, this 2CV full of character is sure to win over collectors in search of authenticity.
