The elegance of Italian design combined with the mechanical reliability of Ford, only 2,200 examples produced.
Designed by Sergio Sartorelli, this elegant coupé was produced in a limited series by OSI (Officine Stampaggi Industriali), and was distinguished by its sleek lines, comfortable interior and exclusive character. Only 2,200 examples were produced between 1967 and 1968, and its sporty looks and limited distribution make it a rare and sought-after model today.
Marketed mainly in Germany, it was built on the mechanical basis of the Ford Taunus. It was powered by a 2 and then 2.3 litre V6 engine renowned for its robustness. Although its design was universally acclaimed, its career was prematurely interrupted by the launch of the Ford Capri in 1968.
Acquired in 2018 by its current owner, our 2.3-litre V6-powered example has since benefited from a mechanical overhaul and received a new paint job in 2021. It is now in good cosmetic condition and in good working order. There are, however, a few traces of corrosion in the boot.
The passenger compartment is fairly well preserved, with imitation leather upholstery combined with mottled grey carpets. The three-spoke steering wheel and wood trim are typical of Italian cars from the 1960s. There is also a period radio.
Combining the refinement of Italian style with the reliability of a tried and tested engine, this OSI offers a rare opportunity to acquire a car that is as exclusive as it is appealing, at a moderate cost of maintenance.
