History:
This car was built by MG (Morris Garage) in 1932 as the Type M model, which followed on from the iconic J2 series, and was assembled at the Abingdon factory. Known as the 8/33, this tiny open-top car was fitted with an 873 cm³ engine capable of producing between 20 and 27 chevaux depending on the date of manufacture. It had a 4-speed gearbox driving the rear wheels, enabling this little speedster to reach 100 kilometres per hour whilst consuming 7.1 litres per 100 kilometres. In 1932, this car cost 185 pounds.
Condition:
This little Midget is in exceptional condition and displays exceptional finishing touches for a car of this age. It has been carefully restored and reveals the high quality of the materials used. However, it should be noted that access to the driver’s seat is not easy, as this is a small car.
It is complete and presented in its green and black livery with its period accessories, including a thermometer fitted in place of a conventional radiator cap.
