Description
Triumph Herald MG replica – Year 1968 Date of manufacture: 07/11/1968 Chassis number: 2838DL Model: Herald Mileage: 81,382 miles on the odometer Gearbox: 4-speed Registration document: yes MOT: to be provided History: The British have a penchant for unusual vehicles and are keen to fit replicas of classic bodywork onto more recent chassis. A number of kit cars have been produced in this way, including this model known as the Triumph JC Midge. This car is built on the basis of a Triumph Herald convertible or coupé, depending on availability. The chassis and mechanical components have been retained; the rest consists of wooden panels and folded sheet metal, whilst the wings are of the motorbike-style found on certain pre-war models. It is a typical kit car. Condition: This car is in fair condition; it requires a roadworthiness test, and its assembly gives it a distinctive, very English look. The car is finished in orange and features accessories such as a side exhaust known as a ‘side pipe’, a vintage radiator and pre-war headlights. Its small, wind-deflecting windscreen is in keeping with this type of car. It is in fair condition and will require a bit of work to get it running again, as well as a check of the lubricants. It is perfectly suitable for modern road use with its right-hand drive.
