Since the brand’s inception, Ferrari convertibles have held a special place in the history of Maranello. From the first V12 spiders and cabriolets of the 1950s to the California and Daytona Spider, and on to the many open-top variants of the brand’s berlinettas, Ferrari has almost always cultivated this unique blend of grand touring, world-class performance and the pleasure of open-top driving. The 812 GTS, unveiled in 2019, is fully in keeping with this tradition. The connection is all the more symbolic given that the 812 GTS represents the most spectacular expression of this philosophy. It combines the qualities of a grand tourer capable of covering long distances with the performance of a true supercar, whilst allowing its occupants to enjoy, with the top down, what is undoubtedly its most fascinating feature: its naturally aspirated V12 engine.
Mounted behind the front axle, this 6,496 cm³ 12-cylinder engine delivers an impressive 800 ch at 8,500 rpm, with a maximum torque of 718 Nm. Paired with a seven-speed F1 dual-clutch gearbox, it propels the 812 GTS from 0 to 100 km/h in under 3 seconds, whilst its top speed exceeds 340 km/h.
Yet these remarkable figures tell only part of the story. Capable of revving to over 8,000 rpm without the need for forced induction, the V12 offers instant response and a sound that naturally takes on an extra dimension when the roof is down. Ferrari also worked specifically on the GTS’s acoustics to preserve the characteristic harmonics of the twelve-cylinder engine.
Its retractable hardtop plays a key role in this versatility. It opens or closes electrically in just 14 seconds and can be operated at speeds of up to 45 km/h. With the roof closed, the 812 GTS retains the comfort and protection of a grand tourer; with the roof open, it becomes a true V12 spider, without compromising on the exceptional performance of the 812 Superfast from which it is derived.
The 812 GTS presented here has a particularly clear history, having been delivered new in Levallois-Perret by Charles Pozzi, a long-standing Ferrari dealer, on 22 September 2021 to its first and current owner. Particular attention was paid to its specification and options at the time of ordering. The bodywork is finished in the highly elegant special-edition Grigio GTS paintwork, combined with an interior clad in Cuoio 4609 leather and Daytona-style upholstery. This elegant combination is particularly well suited to the 812 GTS’s character as a grand tourer. It contrasts with the extensive use of carbon fibre, which emphasises the car’s sporting nature. Carbon fibre adorns, in particular, the dashboard, the centre console, the door sills, the spoiler and the rear diffuser, as well as various elements of the front and rear bumpers. The exterior look is completed by Scuderia Ferrari badges on the wings, 20-inch diamond-cut forged wheels, aluminium-coloured brake callipers and titanium exhaust tailpipes.
The interior also boasts a particularly comprehensive range of features, including electrically adjustable seats, a hi-fi system, Apple CarPlay and the much-appreciated passenger display, which allows the passenger to view various details relating to the car’s driving and performance. Finally, this example is fitted with a front suspension lift system, which is particularly useful for regular use when negotiating kerbs, speed bumps and garage entrances. This 812 GTS thus combines several particularly desirable qualities: a first French owner, delivered new by Charles Pozzi, just 3,500 km on the clock, an elegant Grigio GTS and Cuoio colour scheme, and a very generous array of carbon fibre options. It is important to note that there is no VAT or environmental surcharge on this 812 GTS!
It brilliantly embodies a tradition deeply rooted in Ferrari’s history: that of great open-top cars capable of combining touring, elegance and very high performance. With its naturally aspirated 800 ch V12 engine, retractable roof and refined design, the 812 GTS is one of the most spectacular modern expressions of this tradition.
VAT implications: As the vehicle has less than 6,000 km on the clock, it may be considered ‘as new’ in certain European Union countries. Please contact your tax authorities to confirm its status in the country of destination.
