WDB1260451A452347 French vehicle registration document ‘Very interesting history’    Introduced in 1981 as the successor to the SLC coupé, the Mercedes-Benz SEC coupé is based on the technical architecture and platform of the new S-Class. This design choice gives it excellent handling, generous interior space and a particularly elegant silhouette.   A perfect blend of tradition, robustness and modernity, this car restores the prestige of Grand Tourisme as defined by Mercedes. Unlike its predecessor and rival models of the time, the SEC Coupé stands out by offering four genuine seats. With a focus on prestige and driving pleasure, the German manufacturer has fitted it with powerful V8 engines and cutting-edge technologies, such as electric seats with memory settings and articulated arms that automatically feed the seatbelts to the front passengers.   First registered on 27 February 1989, this 560 SEC was purchased new from the Bosquet dealership in Paris by Mr Ravira. Then Gabon’s ambassador to France and future president of the Gabonese Senate, he made it his personal car. It subsequently came into the ownership of a doctor practising in Essonne (91), before passing into the hands of a third enthusiast, and then a Mercedes-Benz France employee in charge of press relations. Its journey now continues naturally with its current owner, himself a former head of communications at Mercedes-Benz France.    The odometer currently reads just 117,000 km. This low mileage, combined with the calibre of its various owners, attests to the meticulous and consistent care this car has received since it left the factory. A comprehensive service history also proves that the car has always been maintained to the highest standards by enthusiasts of the brand with the star emblem. Recently, major restoration work was carried out at a total cost of €7,798. This comprehensive restoration includes refurbishment of the headliner, replacement of the engine control unit, the battery and the air-conditioning compressor, repair of the heating valve and the fog lights, as well as replacement of the two rear suspension ball joints and repair of the seatbelt feeders. All of this work was carried out by the official Mercedes-Benz authorised repairer Étoile Tuning 78 in Versailles, a leading workshop.
