1987 – Mercedes-Benz 560 SL Chassis no. WDBBA48DOHA072423 US registration certificate – vehicle cleared through customs “Driven by Daniel Craig!”   Produced from 1986 to 1989, the Mercedes-Benz 560 SL sat at the top of the R107 range as the ultimate version of this legendary roadster. Exclusively reserved for the North American, Japanese and Australian markets, it is powered by the largest V8 engine in the range, a 5.6-litre unit producing 231 chevaux. This version combines the timeless design of the 1970s with the most modern standards of safety, comfort and performance of the late 1980s.   First registered on 12 August 1987, this Mercedes-Benz 560 SL was used on screen by Daniel Craig (playing Detective Benoit Blanc) in the film *Wake Up Dead Man: A Knives Out Mystery*. Purchased directly from the production company (Trick Window Productions LLC) and subsequently imported into Belgium, it retains the aesthetic specifications fitted for the film shoot: European headlights and bumpers giving it a sleek silhouette. The car features its original factory colour scheme: Smoke Silver metallic paint (code 702) and a Burgundy leather interior (code 277).   This vehicle had only two private owners in Massachusetts prior to its import. The odometer currently reads approximately 135,100 original miles, a mileage that is certified and traceable via a Carfax report showing no accidents.   The car comes with an exceptional and comprehensive ownership history: the original purchase invoice for $57,900, the factory folder, owner’s manuals, an original, stamped service booklet, as well as the valuable period window sticker confirming its standard specification (5.6-litre V8, 4-speed automatic gearbox, ABS, automatic air conditioning and original Becker Grand Prix radio).   Following its arrival in Europe, extensive restoration work was carried out. In 2026, approximately €6,000 was invested in technical work, including the removal and complete reconditioning of the automatic gearbox, the replacement of seals and drivetrain components, as well as an engine oil change. In August of the same year, €1,911.80 was spent on completely replacing the soft top with a brand-new Burgundy-coloured one, matching the interior upholstery. The vehicle is in excellent working order and ready to hit the road.
