1975 – Morgan Plus 8 Chassis No. R7938 German registration document ‘The most desirable of all Morgans’   Unveiled at the Earl’s Court Motor Show in October 1968, the Morgan Plus 8 was the flagship model of the Malvern-based marque for over three decades. Designed by fitting the powerful aluminium Rover V8 engine under the bonnet of the traditional roadster, it established itself from the outset as one of the most brilliant British cars in terms of acceleration.   Retaining its legendary architecture—combining a steel chassis with an ash wood frame—this featherweight model (weighing less than 950 kg) delivers a pure, unfiltered driving experience, cementing its status as an absolute icon of British automotive craftsmanship.   The example presented here is a V8 first registered in July 1975 and has approximately 98,000 km on the clock. Its official registration documents confirm that it has had only two owners since leaving the factory, both based in Germany. The current owner acquired the vehicle in 2013 and has owned it for the past 13 years. The car has a German registration certificate with official ‘Oldtimer’ (classic car) status.   This example stands out for being strictly original and unrestored.
