Description
Dresch 500 Monobloc – c. 1930
Frame number: 1445
Engine number: Unknown
500 cc 4-stroke in-line twin-cylinder engine, 3-speed gearbox, cardan shaft drive.
Designed by Henri Dresch, an advocate of a motorbike that was “reliable and accessible to as many people as possible”, whose factories were established in the 15th arrondissement of Paris from 1926 onwards.
His 500 monobloc model shook up the competition both through its cutting-edge mechanical design and its reasonably low launch price for a machine fitted with a twin-cylinder engine.
A specimen in its original condition, incomplete – lacking the instrument panel and pistons – fitted with a fine set of Gazda spring-blade handlebars and a Goiot (Reims) steering brake.
The vehicle is not roadworthy and requires restoration.
A set of parts is included, comprising an engine casing.
French collector’s registration certificate, first registered on 01/01/1930.
All vehicles in this sale – motorbikes, mopeds and scooters – are sold as seen, as presented in the catalogue, non-running and without a roadworthiness test, and require at the very least a service, and possibly restoration before use, unless otherwise stated.
NB: The successful bidder acknowledges that the acceptance of a registration application is at the sole discretion of the ANTS and that Boisseau-Pomez cannot guarantee the approval of any application submitted. Consequently, Boisseau-Pomez cannot be held liable for any consequences arising from a refusal of registration, whatever the cause.
