Description
1992 LINCOLN TOWN CAR – History: Introduced for the 1990 model year, the second generation of the Lincoln Town Car marked a significant evolution of the American brand’s large luxury saloon. Based on a further development of the Panther platform, it features a more aerodynamic body whilst retaining the qualities for which it is renowned: exceptional comfort, robust engineering and a particularly comprehensive range of equipment. As the top-of-the-range model in the Town Car line-up, the Signature Series boasts a refined interior with leather upholstery, a host of electric features, automatic air conditioning, an on-board computer and a suspension system prioritising ride comfort, true to Lincoln tradition. Description: The vehicle on display is a Lincoln Town Car Signature Series first registered in 1992. It is powered by the famous 4,942 cm³ (302 ci) Ford Windsor V8 with electronic fuel injection, coupled with a four-speed automatic gearbox. The 2008 sales contract states that the vehicle had 84,698 kilometres on the clock at that time and describes it as roadworthy, featuring, in particular, air conditioning, cruise control, leather upholstery, electric seats, electric windows, an electric boot, a trip computer and a spare wheel. The car now has 37 km more on the clock than it did in 2008. The car retains its original engine and a complete engine bay that is in keeping with the model’s specification. The main comfort features are all still present. The vehicle provides an excellent basis for a return to the road or a light restoration for preservation.
