Description
DASTLE MK10 – History: The Dastle Mk10 is a British single-seater racing car built by Dastle Manufacturing Co. in the 1960s. Designed for promotional racing series and hill climbs, it features a lightweight tubular chassis combined with BMC Mini powertrain, offering an excellent power-to-weight ratio. These handcrafted cars, produced in very small numbers, are now particularly rare and sought after by enthusiasts of historic motorsport. Description: This Dastle Mk10 is offered in the condition in which it was found following a long period in storage. The fibreglass bodywork is largely complete and displays a fine original patina. The yellow paintwork is old and shows a few scratches, chips and signs of wear, with no major apparent damage. The tubular chassis appears complete and visually sound. The vehicle is fitted with its roll bars, suspension, running gear and front and rear tubular protective bars. The engine compartment is complete and houses a tuned BMC Mini engine, fitted with a Rootes cylinder head, a bespoke intake system and two horizontal Weber carburettors, suggesting it was tuned for competition use. The engine has not been started and no mechanical tests have been carried out. The cockpit is complete with its dashboard, Smiths instruments, sports steering wheel, gear lever and bucket seat. The whole interior is in a good state of preservation despite a thick layer of dust accumulated during storage. The Dastle Manufacturing Co. manufacturer’s plate is still present on the chassis, although the numbers are no longer legible. This Dastle provides an excellent basis for a refit and light restoration, or for preparation for historic racing events.
