It followed the philosophy pioneered by the GSX-R 750: to offer a road sports bike directly inspired by competition machines, with a lightweight design, an aluminium frame and highly refined aerodynamics. The 1988 model, type GU74C, was fitted with a 1,052 cm³ in-line four-cylinder engine, cooled by air and oil via the Suzuki SACS — Suzuki Advanced Cooling System. This generation is generally rated at around 130 ch in the unrestricted version, with a torque of approximately 101 Nm. The GSX-R 1100 from this period also stood out for its aluminium perimeter frame, its imposing full fairing with twin headlights and its positioning as a true road ‘superbike’. The GU74C model corresponds precisely to the 1988 generation. With the GSX-R 750 and the GSX-R 1100, Suzuki established a very strong sporting identity in the late 1980s that would leave a lasting mark on the history of high-performance Japanese motorbikes. Our example This particular example was first registered on 24 March 1988 and bears the serial number GU74B106290. It features a red, black and white colour scheme, with white wheels, twin front headlights and full fairing. The odometer currently reads 40,463 km; this mileage is not guaranteed. This mileage also corresponds to that recorded during the roadworthiness test on 24 September 2026. The French registration document bears the DRIRE stamp dated 30 April 1993. The motorbike appears to be in good overall condition, with some signs of wear and cosmetic imperfections visible in the photographs, particularly on certain painted parts, the rims, the exhaust and the bolts and nuts. Exact conformity with the factory-standard configuration and the authenticity of all equipment have not been verified by the auction house. MOT MOT passed on 24/09/2026. Odometer reading: 40,463 km.
